Graphic Novel Book Club:

Usually the Second Monday of the Month, 4pm-5pm

Hey, comic fans! Ready to dive into awesome adventures and epic stories? Join the Graphic Novel Book Club at the Sandown Public Library! Each month, we’ll choose a graphic novel to read and chat about—picked by YOU and your fellow club members.

But wait, there’s more! After we geek out over the story, we’ll roll up our sleeves for a super cool craft inspired by the book. It’s like living inside the comic world!

Kids Kraft:

Usually the Third Wednesday of the Month, Two Times, 1pm-2pm and 4pm-5pm

Get creative with us at the Sandown Public Library’s Kids Kraft Program.  This engaging program invites children to explore the world of arts and crafts through a new project each month, sparking their imaginations and inspiring creativity.

Why is art important for kids?

  • Boosts Creativity: Art helps children express themselves in unique ways, encouraging them to think outside the box.
  • Improves Fine Motor Skills: Cutting, gluing, drawing, and painting all help strengthen hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
  • Encourages Problem-Solving: Crafting teaches kids to experiment with different materials and techniques to bring their ideas to life.
  • Builds Confidence: Completing an art project fosters a sense of accomplishment and pride in their work.
  • Promotes Relaxation: Art provides a calming outlet, helping kids unwind and focus.

Each month’s project will introduce children to new techniques, materials, and creative challenges, making every session a fresh and fun experience. Whether it’s painting, collage, weaving, or seasonal crafts, there’s always something exciting to discover! Don’t miss this opportunity for your child to explore their artistic side in a fun and welcoming environment.

Lego League:

Usually the first Monday of the Month, 4pm-5pm

Unleash your creativity and join us on the first Monday of every month for Lego League at Sandown Public Library! Kids will engage in exciting seasonal building challenges and enjoy free-build time to explore their imaginations.

Playing with LEGO promotes problem-solving, enhances fine motor skills, and fosters teamwork and creativity, making it a fun and educational experience for all skill levels. Whether you're a master builder or just starting, this program offers the perfect blend of learning and fun!

Here at the Sandown Public Library, we know you might have to bring along those younger siblings!   We will have LEGO DUPLOS sets available for the toddlers in your crew, as well as extra large blocks, rattles and scarves for the littlest members.

Messy Mondays:

Usually the second Monday of the Month, 10am-11am

Looking for something fun to do with your child? Join us for child-centered, creative exploration! Art, science and crafts will all be incorporated into this program, and you can leave the mess for us! We will provide aprons, but please dress your child in clothing that can get messy. This group is limited to 10 children (ages 2 - 6).

STEAM Explorers:

Usually the fourth Wednesday of the Month, Two Times, 1pm-2pm and 4pm-5pm

Calling all curious minds! Join us once a month for STEAM Explorers, an exciting program where kids dive into the fascinating world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Each month, we’ll explore new hands-on experiments and engaging activities designed to spark creativity, inspire critical thinking, and encourage teamwork.

From building bridges and crafting circuits to creating artistic masterpieces and exploring chemical reactions, every session offers a unique opportunity to learn through play and discovery. Whether your child loves to tinker, design, or ask "why," STEAM Explorers is the perfect place to ignite their passion for exploration and innovation.
